Each commodity's reference price is a volume-weighted average of the past 7 days of settled trades, not a simple mean — a handful of large trades won't skew it as much as one big outlier would in a plain average.

The reference price is computed live from a rolling 7-day window every time the page loads — not a fixed daily batch — so it's always reflecting the most recent settled trades, giving both sides a consistent number to negotiate from.
